Sunlit CassetteRetro Music Player

The sound of cassette tape, and the nostalgia that comes with it. The tape effects, AM radio effects and vintage EQ all run on our own DSP. Choose Emo mode, where a few controls change the sound right away, or Pro mode, where you can fine-tune every parameter.

Tape effects

Wow and flutter, ±15% tape speed, azimuth, saturation, tape hiss, low-pass and high-pass filters, and print-through (magnetic transfer between tape layers).

AM radio effect

That narrow-band AM sound. In Emo mode, a single “distance” setting takes you from a nearby station to a faraway one drifting in late at night.

Vintage EQ

From the 3-band EQ of an old cassette player to a modern 31-band EQ, with independent left and right channels. Plus bass boost, loudness, surround and reverb.

Emo and Pro

Every effect has a Pro mode for tweaking every parameter in obsessive detail, and an Emo mode that links parameters together for easy setup.

'80s tape deck sounds

The clunk of play and stop, the cassette case opening, the tape being ejected — each sampled one by one. The whir of fast-forward and rewind is simulated too.

VFD spectrum analyzer

Recreates the glow of a vacuum fluorescent display, with 5 blur patterns and 3 grid sizes. Tap the VFD to show the song title in front, behind, or not at all.

A Pomodoro timer and pacemaker connected by constellations (Japanese only)

A Pomodoro timer for anyone who wants to focus. On a map, people working at the same time appear as twinkling stars. The comfort of not being alone, at a lighter distance than social media.

  • Pacemaker — a sound plays at set intervals so you can feel time passing (every 5 seconds by default)
  • Constellations — people in the same category are linked by lines, like stars in a constellation
  • Privacy first — locations are blurred automatically, and guest mode is available
